Amazon EC2 Definition

Amazon EC2

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale cloud computing easier for developers.

With Amazon EC2,   you can obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction, obtain and boot new server instances in minutes, and scale capacity up and down as needed. You only pay for capacity that you use. Amazon EC2 also provides developers with  tools to build failure resilient applications and isolate them from common failure scenarios.
