Welsh Slate at St Pancras Station, London. The company has just selected a Cloud BI solution.

We’re thrilled to welcome on board Welsh Slate who have chosen a Cloud BI solution from Business Intelligence company Matillion.

It’s not many of our Cloud BI customers whose product takes 500 million years to make.  From their quarries in the Snowdonia National Park, Welsh Slate produce the strongest, most durable slate in the world.  It’s used in Landscaping, Architecture, Interiors and a variety of other applications, as well as, of course, on roofs.

Alongside their building products, Welsh Slate also manufactures and markets a range of tableware.  Designed by 2-Michelin star chef Michael Caines, Slatewear combines the heritage of the product with the demands of contemporary dining.

Matillion and Welsh Slate will be working over the coming weeks to implement Cloud BI and self-service reporting across a range of systems including Pegasus Opera ERP and Avery Weigh-Tronix weighbridge software.  This will provide easy to use, fast to implement drill-down sales analysis, inventory analysis, production analysis, HR analysis and supply chain analysis, allowing managers and executives to self-serve.

Project Summary:

  • Pain Points: Self-Service Reporting and Analysis, Saving Time In The Manual Production of Reports, Ability to Join Information Together from Several Systems
  • Modules Selected: Sales Analysis, Inventory and Supply Chain Analysis and Production Analysis
  • Core Systems: Pegasus Opera, Avery Weigh-Tronix
  • Why they selected Matillion: Ability to join and drill-down into data; cloud bi solution, easy to use, self-serve reporting and analysis; low/no maintenance required by in-house IT team
