As companies continue to use the cloud to increase scalability, flexibility, and reliability in their data infrastructure, and cloud-native tools bring faster time to insights. The faster data teams can deploy these tools, the sooner they can begin to realize their cloud data strategies. At Matillion, we listen to our customers to learn exactly how we can make their day-to-day jobs easier any way we can. And our customers want to deploy Matillion ETL for Redshift as quickly as possible.
Acceleration through collaboration
Last month, we launched the first Quick Start of Matillion ETL for Amazon Redshift on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. AWS Quick Starts are accelerators that reduce hundreds of manual procedures into just a few steps, so you can build your production environment quickly and start using it immediately. With this Quick Start, users can deploy a production-ready Amazon Redshift Cluster with Matillion ETL for Redshift as either a single instance with an Amazon Aurora database or in a high availability (HA) cluster in about 20 minutes, following AWS best practices.
Designed via collaboration between Matillion and Amazon Redshift’s solution architect team, this new Quick Start provides our partners and customers with an easier, quicker way to spin up a resilient architecture to allow you to perform complex data transformations with Matillion ETL and Amazon Redshift to prepare data for visualizations, business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics.
Benefits of this Quick Start
Understanding that our customers and partners need easy, fast, reliable, and inexpensive ways to do a Proof of Concept (PoC) and to achieve ROI, making use of a Quick Start program was an obvious choice for Matillion. Together with AWS, we rigorously tested configurations and our solution architect teams collaborated to design a fully documented reference architecture in the form of AWS CloudFormation Templates to launch your Matillion stack.
With this new solution, we aim to help our customers and partners:
- Deploy Matillion with Amazon Redshift in a best practice architecture
- Accelerate high velocity, low-cost deployment in the cloud
- Increase server health
- Customize on top of a stable base architecture approved by AWS and Matillion
When you deploy this Quick Start, you automatically set up a highly available architecture that spans two Availability Zones and a virtual private cloud (VPC) configured with public and private subnets according to AWS best practices. This provides all of the benefits of having the data in the cloud with Enterprise level security and resilience to ensure your essential data is always available yet highly secure. This essentially provides you with your own virtual network on AWS and reusable, automatically updated templates to ensure the latest software versions and best practices are met.
