Better Together: Matillion’s Virtual Wellness Mission is Back
In 2020, our team joined together during quarantine to get moving in support of our local charities. Matillion launched the Better Together initiative, a virtual mission to cover 4,539 miles (the distance between our two headquarters in Manchester and Denver) from October 1 to October 31. We raised a respectable £1445 ( $750) while getting active with our families and pets. You can read more about it on our blog here.
This year, we want to do it again with a bigger team and an even bigger goal. Starting April 1, our virtual mission will cover the distance between four countries where we have Matillioners; the UK, Ireland, US, and Canada, for a total of 9,049 miles!
As mental health and employee burnout continue to dominate workplace conversations, it’s important for members of Team Green to take breaks throughout the day. Short breaks to walk, ride a bike, or run can help relieve stress and lead to clearer thinking. Getting fresh air and exercise is a great way to break up the day and doing so in the name of charity makes it even easier to lace up your trainers (or sneakers)!
Raising money in loving memory of Nick Tierney
This year’s charity recipient is one that is near to our hearts at Matillion. Tragically, we lost a member of our team in 2021 to cancer. Proceeds from our fundraising will go to The Nick Tierney Foundation, to benefit the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Join us on our mission
We will walk, run, cycle, hike, and/or swim these miles to raise money in memory of Nick. With our global team, we are sure to reach our goal and see some amazing, scenic photos from Manchester, Colorado, Massachusetts, California, London, and wherever our teammates are working remotely.
We would love the support of our community as our team marches toward our ambitious goal. You can support the Nick Tierney Foundation at Vanderbilt Medical Center directly here.

See you out there!
