What's the data engineering team of the future look like? I think there's a lot of us talking, about how AI will replace all software engineers and all copywriters and all graphics designers and all data engineers. That's not how I see it. I see the power of Agentic AI, the power of technology like Maia, not to replace, but to enhance and extend and extend and accelerate human capability. As we've seen in previous technical revolutions, which this definitely is, we will also make the role of data engineering more exciting, more leveraged, more fun. You know, back before the printing press, if we had to, if we wanted to write a book and then get it to lots of people, we had to write the book and that was the fun bit. And then we had to write it again and again and again because we that was the only way we could duplicate our text. And so when the printing press came along, we just wrote the book once, the fun bit, and then we printed the book lots more times. And, certainly, Agentic data engineering, this change is as profound as the printing press. I've built a few thousand pipelines in my time. I'm a little bit rusty now. But some parts of it are creative and interesting and leveraged, make me feel like I'm personally helping improve my business. And other parts of it are, repetitive and gritty and, repeating work that I've previously had to do. An AI can take all of that away from us. So in terms of how, Maia and AI will change data engineering, I I don't see a world where we don't need data engineers, but I do see a world where each of us does, five and ten and a hundred times more. This is a moment to embrace and lead, rather than to deny, or exercise skepticism.
