Setting up OAuth in Designer Project to use the DPC API Custom Connector endpoints

Now that we’ve set up both OAuth and custom endpoints for the DPC API, this post will walk you through using the Custom Connector within a Matillion Designer project.

Steps:

  • Navigate to the Designer
  • Select the project in which you want to run the DPC APIs custom connector, then navigate to the OAuth tab.
  • Click on Add OAuth connection and enter the values for the required fields.
    • OAuth name: <enter the name for the OAuth connection that you want to see within the project>
    • Provider: <the OAuth entry we created in Part 1 of this blog series under the Custom Connector - OAuth should now be listed as an option in the drop-down>
    • Authentication type: OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials
    • Client ID: <enter the value captured when creating API Credentials for the Hub account>
    • Client Secret: <enter the value captured when creating API Credentials for the Hub account>
  • Click the Authorize button. If the credentials are valid, the OAuth will be authorized successfully and appear in the list on the OAuth tab.

With the OAuth connection successfully set up in Matillion Designer, you can now easily run DPC API custom connectors within your project. This streamlined setup allows secure access to the API, enabling efficient orchestration of your data workflows. Stay tuned for the final part of this series, which will walk you through using the DPC API Custom Connector in Designer!
